Tips on Selecting the Perfect Plasma-LCD HDTV

Before you visit your local stores, you should do a little research to make selecting the best model for you a little easier. Here are a few tips to help you make the best choice.
Step 1: Size: You should select the size of your HDTV based on the size of your room and where you are going to place it. If you plan to get a HDTV to serve as your computer model (26- 34-inch model) make sure that you have about four feet between you and the HDTV. If not, consider getting a smaller model.
If you are planning to get a HDTV for your living room, getting the right HDTV size is very crucial. If you have about 6" between the couch and the location of the HDTV, you can get a model that is 42-50 inches in size. If you have 7 or 8 feet in distance, you can consider getting a larger 55 - 65-inch model.
Step 2: Image quality: If you plan to watch a lot of HD movies on your new TV, make sure to get a 1080p model. If not, you should at least get the less expensive 720p model. These high-resolutions are great for watching HD and Blu-ray movies.
Step 3: Plasma or LCD: LCD HDTVs consumer less power, is lighter and smaller than most plasma HDTVs. When it comes to image quality though, plasma HDTV wins hands down. They may sometimes be a little more expensive, but I say that it is worth every penny. Plasma HDTVs are best used in dimmer lighting conditions. If you are planning to get a HDTV to display in a bright area, a LCD HDTV may fare better.
Step 4:Which Brand?:This is often the toughest decision when it comes to buying a HDTV as each brands have their own set of unique features. To put is simply, Samsung and Sony currently produces some of the best LCD HDTVs in the market. If you plan to get a plasma TV, Panasonic models are a good way to go. If you have some extra cash to spare, you should definitely get a Pioneer plasma model.
